Just 30 minutes drive from the resort, the dissolved minerals in the waters of this hot spring, which are volcanic in origin, are said to be therapeutic to the entire body.
This waterfall is a popular site for family picnics and is popularly known as 'lover's falls'. From the resort, just take a 1 hour ride and arrive to a picturesque of cascading waterfalls, wild flowers and multi-coloured butterflies fluttering about the place.
Located in Lanchang in the state of Pahang, it takes a drive of 45 minutes to reach the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary. Geared towards the plight of the endangered Malaysian elephant, the centre also takes in orphaned and abandoned elephants. Focused on providing information on elephant conservation efforts, visitors to this centre can participate in daily activities like feeding and grooming the elephants and helping with the daily bathing of each animal in nearby
Within the same vicinity of the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary is the Malaysian Aborigine Settlement which houses the aboriginal museum. Among the displays are weapons used for hunting, clothing made from free barks and traditional musical instruments. Test your skill with the blowpipe shooting or fishing at the nearby fresh water pond using bamboo rods. Alternatively, simply take a refreshing dip in the nearby river.
Just 5 minutes away from the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary, the Deerland Park is located within the vicinity of the Aborigine Settlement. Visitors to the park can hand feed these Indonesian deers (Cervus timorensis) and observe their behaviour at near range. The 4-hectare park also houses ostriches and a sun-bear (Helarctos malayanus), plus a section dedicated to the cultivation of over 40 traditional herbal plants. A 200-metre wooden walkway runs through this area, leading up to an observation tower in the middle of Bukit Rengit.
