Contestants

Who can participate?

Having a partner (of the opposite sex) is your first criteria. Couples must be legally married on or after January 2007. And if you have a tick on the following, then you are eligible.

• The couple or either one of them must be a Malaysian or Singaporean citizen(s).
• Not an employee of Berjaya Group of Companies, Integricity Corporation, official sponsors, media partners and members of their immediate families

Can we join if we are legally married but haven't had our wedding reception yet?

Yes! Any couple that is legally married (registered) on or after January 2007 who hasn't had their wedding reception is eligible to take part.

What is the closing date for registration?

23 November 2008. Don't be late!

How do I know if I qualify for the next round?

Keep a lookout on this website; we will announce the winners here. If you are shortlisted, you will soon find an email in your inbox. We may also contact you by phone. So make sure that the details you give us are accurate.

How are the couples shortlisted?

After the closing date of the Couples' Registration, Berjaya Hotels & Resorts will select the contestants in Phase 1 of the contest based on the information you used to register. So make sure you give us creative answers! In Phase 2, 3 and 4, voters (who are the general public) will determine which couple gets shortlisted and which couple gets eliminated based on the number of votes collected in a fixed period of time. Voters will have to register, so make sure you tell your friends and family to sign up!

What exactly is the prize?

The winning couple will receive:

• A fully paid for beach wedding reception at Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort, Langkawi, Malaysia with 58 of their closest friends and family.
• Complimentary 3D/2N stay in the bridal suite at Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort.
• 9 complimentary twin-sharing rooms for 3D/2N for couple's guests at the Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort.
• Prizes from participating sponsors including a beach wedding designed by Nupts & Such, candid moments captured by world-renowned photographer Edmund Tham, décor by Confetti, glitzy footwear by Charles & Keith and Pedro, the ultimate couple fragrance by Ralph Lauren Romance, splashes of colour by Shu Uemura and styling by Centro for L'Oréal Professionnel. If I want to invite more guests, what do I do?

We hate for you to shrink your guest list and we know it's one of the most difficult things to do when it comes to weddings, but the wedding reception area can only accommodate a maximum of 60 pax (the couple and their 58 guests). Unless your guests are willing to float on rafts by the shore, you will have to refrain from inviting more people.

Will I get to choose the date of my wedding reception?

The wedding reception date has been set on the 23 April 2009. Unfortunately the date cannot be changed.

Are my flight tickets to Langkawi paid for?

Yes! The couple's round-trip flight tickets are part of the wedding giveaway package.

When will the winning couple be announced?

9 March 2009

If I win, will I be featured in any of Berjaya Hotels & Resorts' advertisements?

Yes. The winning couple will be BHR's Ambassadors for a period of one year. Within that time frame, the couple will be required to participate in all or some of the PR events organized by Berjaya Hotels & Resorts. As Ambassadors for Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, you will be photographed, interviewed etc.

What if it rains on the day of the wedding reception?

There's always a back up plan - especially on your big day! The staff at Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort will guarantee that your wedding reception will be just as incredible despite the few droplets of water.

What if my honey does not like being captured on video or even photographs?

Option 1: Invite your partner to an exquisite fine dining dinner and pitch this idea to him/her. If that doesn't work, get either set of parents to talk to your partner.

Option 2: Tell your partner he/she does not need to look into the camera, then sneak up on him/her and snap candid shots or footages.

Option 3: Sweet-talk him/her into it. Persuasion comes with persistence.

Reminder: The winning couple will be Ambassadors for Berjaya Hotels & Resorts for one year (May 2009 - May 2010) and will be required to attend events, press conferences, etc., related or not to this event.

Who can vote?

Anyone with a valid email address can vote!

What are the voting dates to remember?

We will allow voters to vote at different phases of this contest.

1st vote: Vote for your favourite couple based on the videos they uploaded.
Voting starts from 16 December 2008 till 11 January 2009*.

2nd vote: Vote for your favourite couple among 7 couples who will blog about their one month sponsored bridal photo shoot and other events they will attend.
Voting starts from 16 February till 22 February 2009*.

3rd vote: The most crucial of all phases. The last 3 couples will go through a final round of elimination. Vote for your winning couple, your vote might be the determining factor.
Voting starts from 27 February till 5 March 2009*.

Can I vote a second time?

Each registrant is eligible to vote up to 10 times for every phase of the contest.
