Question :

The journey of love, each carries a story which brings you to a certain destiny.

Do we find ourselves in the tale of Snow White and her prince charming? A story that shows that as you wait patiently, one day your prince shall rescue you from the poisonous red apple so you shall live happily ever after. How about Jack and Rose? They came from two diverse backgrounds, met at the most celebrated vessel believed to have been described as "unsinkable", fell so deeply in love yet the joy was only short-lived. Or do we want a piece of the romantic comedy 'Made of Honour', where the sweetest thing is when you fall in love with your best friend.

Should we look for love, wait for love or let destiny takes its own course?

TEO SEH KIAT & YAP HUAY SEAN

When I was a little girl, my mum used to tell me that if I wanted to find a husband, I would need to throw a mandarin orange into the river on Chap Goh Mei and make a wish. Secretly, I really threw one into Sungai Kerayung before I left for NUS to study. I guess the orange had traveled, far and wide, to Labuan and picked up by none other than my intended, Kelvin. It might just be a superstition to all. But, for me, I think destiny has played a big part in us meeting each other.

Both of us had our fair share of heart breaks before we met. Magical love happens when we least expect it. Guessing games were intense when we both didn't express our feelings. If he hadn't initiated the move, we would still only be platonic friends now.

Love is indeed a mystery. You can't force it. But when it arrives, you should embrace it and reciprocate two folds to the person who brought it alive in you. The secret of love is that it is a gift and that it can be made to grow only by returning it.

Over the 7 years of relationship, we have never waited for love to come but we try our best to keep giving. The day he proposed, he told me there will be happily-ever-after. In real life, happily-ever-after means hard work, trust, respect and tolerance. And if you asked me what happily-ever-after means? I would say, it is when he still holds my hands when we are both 80 years old with grey hair.

LEE CHUN BOON & LOUISE CHU WEI SHAN

Ironically, love is the bus that comes when you are not waiting for one, and makes you wait when you needed one. Ultimately, everyone is destined to meet the right one (still a myth to be busted, maybe if we put 'some' it will be healthier), but along the way, the left one or the leftovers appears, sometimes...

Without blessings from above, no matter how hard you look for love you will not find it.

Love is like eating durian, every opening provides anticipation. However like me, you first need to find the 'right' type of durian, and overcome unfamiliar terrain.

I am pretty choosy when it comes to durian, smell? taste? texture? and most importantly less 'Thorny'. Looking for my dream durian with the right characteristics has not come easy. Just like love, hard work doesn't always pay off. It needs a pinch of luck and most importantly destiny.

You can trust me on this, especially when it comes with bottomless terms and conditions with no money-back guarantee. But who cares, I am blinded and loving it.

I've looked and eliminated, I've waited (while sleeping to make full use of time), and the moment has come to follow my destiny. Love always struck at the most unexpected place, as for myself I found my dream durian in my office.

I'm lucky, destined to be in love with my best friend - durian LuLu.

LIM HSIEN HAN & WONG BEE HONG

'The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart'

The guardian of time, minutes, days, eons... tempts us, restricts us, drives every beating moment of our hearts to search for eternal love. The one so elusive, so precious, we pursue to world's end, pausing each step of the way, pondering, is she the one? Will he be a good husband? Are those fleeting glances, casual words mere flirtation, or heaven's way of touching two souls drifting aimlessly. Destiny some would call it, others fate. The defining moment happens for a reason, as love never reasons but profusely gives, like a thoughtless prodigal, its all. And, its all to that one person.

'What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined... to strengthen each other... to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories'

Memories we treasure forever, where time will pass, but flashes of events together linger, like the sight of dew after the morning rain, remembered, vividly like a moment not too long ago. And such is the journey to let destiny decide. For the fortunate, no more wasted tears, no echo of one's fall, no more lonesome years, and together this blessed hour atones for all.

And think not you can guide the course of love. For love, if it finds you worthy, shall guide your course.

And it has guided our course. Our destiny.
